Our walk with Jesus requires us to surrender to Jesus. Fasting and prayer were part of Jesus’ life as He lived in His intimacy with Father. Fasting and prayer restores and strengthens intimacy and passion for God. It also helps us to hear from Him. Most importantly fasting and praying is a way for us to humble ourselves in the sight of God relinquishing our will and obeying His.(Psalm 35:13; Ezra 8:21). King David said, “I humbled my soul with fasting” (Psalm 69:10).
As we look to 2026 in Making Room for More, let’s remember that this year, the more we desire, is Jesus. More intimacy with Him is everything. We invite Him in to get rid of all that is taking up space in our lives, body, mind soul and spirit so that we can lean in and let Him cleanse us, heal us and occupy our lives making Him and the Kingdom our our priority and passion. This is so important as we come to serve Him and be used by Him to advance the Kingdom, because the Kingdom is Christ and He is who should have all eminence in us…
As we come into this new season with joy and anticipation, let’s remember the key scriptures that should be on our hearts this year: Joel 2:12-13, Joel 2: 25, Matthew 6:33, and Revelation 3:20
