The Next Generation…. The Harvest is Coming…. scripture says it this way….Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet to be created may praise the LORD: that he looked down from his holy height; from heaven the LORD looked at the earth, to hear the groans of the prisoners, to set free those who were doomed to die, that they may declare in Zion the name of the LORD…Psalm 102:18-22, ESV. These are the souls of those that are yet to experience the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ. They are ones who are yet to be born again of the Holy Spirit.

On Sunday January 1st New Years Day at our 10:30am Celebration Service we will declare the word of the Lord beginning a 21 Days Fasting and Prayer focused on THE NEXT GENERATION – Children, Youth, Young Adults and  Young Families.  We will be using the book below by Sally Michaels “Praying for the Next Generation as our guide. If you would like to purchase it, it is available on Amazon.ca.  We will also be doing daily readings of scripture and exerts from the book online where you can join us live on Facebook to share experiences and testimonies in the threads. As well we will also be looking to hear these great feats of God in our Sunday Services. So make sure you right them down so they are fresh and let someone on the team know so you can be slotted in to share that day.

On Friday the 20th the eve of our final day of fasting we will be opening up our church for a 24hr prayer vigil for the next generation starting at 10am where we will start with a time of worship and begin our final hours of prayer till 10am Saturday morning… There will be sign up sheets at the church where you can confirm which hours you will be joining. We are hoping that everyone will be there for the final hour of the prayer and worship Saturday morning…

As the last few weeks of December wind down, let us use this Advent season for God to prepare our hearts to make room for Jesus, and making room for Him to stir our hearts for those that He loves and desires to heal and restore to His Kingdom…That He will answer the prayers of this generation that we would see the next generation receive with willing hearts, the baton for Christ – that they will be an anointed unwavering, unrelenting generation for Jesus.  Let us not give up hope and remain steadfast, for we will see the glory of the Lord in the land of the living… His glory will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. Jesus will lift the oppression over this land this territory in which we are His ambassadors, His servants as we stream His glorious light into the darkness… He will set the captives free… He will take the land…

Psalm 78:4, NLT We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the LORD, about his power and his mighty wonders.

Ignite us and enflame us by the power of your Spirt Father, as Your messengers of Your great news… in the name of the most glorious One, Jesus Christ.

When most people dive into the scriptures of Revelation they can find it overwhelming with all the symbols, imagery and hidden meanings. Some are are even drawn to the intrigue of the apocalyptic writing about the end and the calamities  the inhabitants of earth will face before King Jesus returns. Yet the real meaning of apocalypse means revelation and that is the revelation of King Jesus and God’s plan for humanity from creation to the restoration of all things where once again we walk with Jesus as we did in the garden.

As we dig into Revelation the truth that is being revealed is that God is in control. He has full authority over all that is occurring. He is the creator and sovereign over all no matter how much things look otherwise. Actually God even uses evil to turn on itself so that He can bring forth His plan of restoration. The other thing that is constant in Revelation is that no matter how evil humanity is or becomes in their decline of morality God is always holding back the judgement. Not judgement He desires to give us but judgement that the law requires. Actually the law was given to show us how much we need Christs redemption and so throughout Revelation God continually warns and gives opportunity for fallen man to choose life and not death and victory over sin. This book confirms over and over that God desires no one to perish and yet He is a Holy Righteous and Just God Perfect in all things.. and yet He is merciful patient and longsuffering toward us making every effort to point us to His will for us through the Lamb of God… Jesus Christ.

Over the last several weeks after looking at theses scriptures we can be assured that Jesus is with us every step of the way no matter what we may face. He is preparing and coming for a people who are marked and His.  More importantly when we look at these scriptures we should also consider how God desires us to respond as we consider the events that have occurred and are still leading to His return as He has made His gift of salvation an open to door in this time of grace.
